EUFAULA CONTEST

General Notes:

Entry fee for spectators:         $5 for prelims/$5 for finals or… $8 for all day pass

Stadium Address:                   1 Anderson Bell ~ Eufaula, OK 74432

Performers:                              The field is GRASS & numbers MAY not be exactly where they’re expected.

 

SCHEDULE:

Friday Night Reminders:

3rd Quarter:      Front Ensemble & Guard Load Equipment, Drum Major Ladders (Guard Unis, etc)

After Game:    Hang up unis on racks & put the racks into trailer…Don’t forget shakos & plumes!

                        Wind instruments and DL equipment go in too after the game.

                        We want the trailer READY TO GO for Saturday morning!

                          Sometimes the trailer travels separately from us, so don’t count on it being here in the AM.

 

Contest Day Schedule

9:30am            PA Bldg Open

10:00am          Call-Time

                                    Dress:  Shorts for under uniforms & INCREDIBLES shirts!!!

10:30am          Depart for Eufaula

Noon               Arrive & Set-up Camp/Unload

                                    Discuss contest etiquette among your sections to avoid embarrassing situations.

                                      We don’t participate in crazy, so avoid it!

                        Lunch Provided in our camp area

2:30pm            Suited Up & Ready to go Perform

3:00pm            Warm-Up

3:30pm            Perform Prelims

3:45pm            Take off and hang up uniforms, put instruments in cases, & await news re: evening plans

5:30pm            First Finals Band Warm-Up Time

                         If we don’t make it to finals, we will eat dinner, load up, and go home.

Note: The entire evening schedule depends on news received after prelim performance, so remain flexible!

6:00pm            Finals Performances Begin

                        Load everything but uniforms into trailer after finals performance.

                         The trailer will likely leave early, so plan accordingly. 

9:15pm            Massing in uniform (no shakos/instruments/flags)

10:30pm          Depart for Home

12:00am          Home…We will unload the trailer on Monday, so don’t put anything in there you will need!                        

  • There will be some snacks/water on hand all day, but bring $ for concessions stands too.

  • The contest has some pretty cool souvenir t-shirts for sale too, in case you’re interested.

  • Be sure your shorts work under you uniform (ie-not too bulky!) No jeans under uniforms!

  • Hornline & Drummers: Be SURE you have long BLACK socks!

  • There will be a lot of down time so bring a blanket to sit on and something to do.

  • If we’re able to use our generator, you’ll be able to charge your phones, but don’t necessarily count on it! Bring your own charging cables.

  • The stadium will close between prelims and finals for cleaning FYI.

  • It is critical that you stay up-to-date on our schedule and not require shepherding on these days!

  • Be sure you’re enrolled in our group’s BAND app notices so you’ll be aware of any last-minute changes.

Personal Loading Check List:

  • Instrument/Flag & Weapon Loaded on Semi

  • Uniform hung up on rack and loaded

  • Shako loaded on semi

  • Black socks

  • Proper performance shoes

  • Money for concessions

  • Something to do

  • Blanket, etc to sit on

  • Be aware of the weather and be prepared

 

*If you are planning on leaving the contest with anyone other than on the bus, I MUST know about it BEFORE Saturday and have a signed note.
