Dress: Nice Clothes (No Jeans!) MOSTLY black and white.
Call Time: 6:00pm in CPHS Band Room
Schedule:
We will warm-up in the band room and file out to the stadium in order.
About 6:50pm, we’ll play “Ashland Park” and the usher in the graduates with “Pomp & Circumstance”
We will stay in our set through the body of the program and ‘disappear’ in our seats. (We can’t play on phones, read a magazine, etc because we are directly in view of the ceremony’s happenings and are expected to participate with our attention. Because we are so visible to the audience, we can’t travel to the restrooms, etc, so be sure to take care of business before we go out to perform!
At the end, we will usher the graduates out with “Ceremonial Processional” and return our equipment to the band room after the ceremony.
You should be finished by about 9:00pm. We will NOT have dinner together, so eat beforehand. We WILL have bottled water at our seats in case it’s warm outside.
In case of rain, the show WILL go on. There is a small chance that the time gets moved to earlier in the day if rain is forecast during the ceremony, but rain throughout the day WILL NOT cancel the event. Plan on being there rain or shine and stay tuned for any last-minute changes beyond our control.
Unless the school board changes the policy before then, we will need to wear masks during the ceremony when we’re not playing our instruments.
As always, it’s important to remember that this is a VERY important event in the lives of our seniors and one day, someone will be performing for your special day, so we MUST do a great job!
