In order to showcase all of our students to the largest audience possible and avoid having to socially distance indoors, we are holding our concert in the park in the great tradition of outdoor band concerts. Please bring lawn chairs, blankets, etc and make an evening of it. We will have grilled hamburger dinners for sale so your family can just come and enjoy the concert without having to rush for dinner beforehand. Five dollars will get you a hamburger/cheeseburger, chips and bottled water. (Cash only please) SnoCones will also be available and all profits from the sale of both will be donated to the band and the proceeds will help with our semi trailer restoration project. Bring the whole family and help us celebrate the work we’ve done in the face of a challenging year!
Parking may be tricky, so please plan on arriving in plenty of time to find a spot and get to your assigned post on time. For those with mobility issues, the area just behind the stage will be reserved. The key is to be there plenty early!
Niki Counce Photography will be doing portraits at the event. Return order forms with payment to Mr. Wright or bring them with you to the concert. These are optional and are normally done at our Winter Concert, but that was cancelled this year, so we are making the opportunity available at this concert. She does really well-done portraits that make for a nice keepsake of your child’s performance.
At the end of the concert, we will need a bit of help loading up all of our equipment. Performers are encouraged to stay until the end to see what they can look forward to in their band careers. Each group is playing a limited number of songs to keep the concert to an acceptable length, so it should be over by 8:00 or so. Please be sure, particularly for the younger performers, that they know where and when to meet their families after the concert. There are plenty of landmarks in the area of the Great Lawn for reference.
