The auditions are at Broken Arrow HS (a map for parking and room location were included in the email sent to you on Wednesday).
Auditioners will be responsible for getting themselves to and from BAHS.
Don’t forget to take your stuff after the game Friday night!
Cuts will be posted at your audition rooms by 8:00am. Auditions begin at 9:00am.
The system has randomly assigned you an audition time. Be sure to check in at your room at 8:30am to let the monitor know you’re there.
Come back to your room a bit earlier than your audition time and go through the process.
The judges will tell you what to do and when. Remember: You CAN NOT talk in the room. If you have a question, signify silently to the adult monitor in the room and they’ll help you.
Regarding Sight reading: The music (even if you play it great) will sound terrible. It’s ugly on purpose. Use your 30 seconds to review key signature, lots of black ink, weird jumps/rhythms, etc and go for it when the time comes! Don’t stop or give up, just keep going. Whatever you play won’t be the worst thing they hear that day!!!!!
Results will be posted in the trophy case outside the media center, but I will text out results when thye are final too if you would like to leave after your audition.
Dress comfortably, but not like a slob!
Warm-up is in the cafeteria (separate building). There is also a PSAT going on in the school, so you can’t play outside of the cafeteria or your audition room (even outside!).
I will be judging, so I won’t be able to help you with anything. If there’s a serious problem, try and get someone in the media center to help. If it’s not a critical problem, though, you’re sort of on your own. Plz don’t text or call, bc I can’t answer.
