I will be at Sapulpa HS at the end of your performances only (most likely) so please work with Ms. Teachnor to sort out any problems, but there shouldn’t be any. If you don’t have your original copy (not photocopy) she should have it. Be sure to number the measures for the judge.

Dress nicely!

If you need to get an instrument from the band room, do it TODAY!

If you didn’t get a map of the HS, there should be signs, but show up a little early to find your room.

Tune before you leave warm-up.

When you go in to your room to perform, announce your name and what song you;re playing. At the end, say thanks for listening and leave the room. If you can hang around to get your original back, please do and give it back to me on Monday. The outside monitor for the room can get it for you when the next person goes in.

Good luck and have fun!

This is the info that was on the handout passed out last week…

When:   Saturday, March 7th

Where:  Sapulpa High School – 3 S Mission St  Sapulpa, OK 74066

What:    HS District Solo & Ensemble Contest

Wear:   Nice Clothes Appropriate for Performance

·        The contest will be held at the Sapulpa High School on Saturday, March 7th.

·        Each player will be responsible for getting to and from the contest on his/her own (there won’t be a bus, so work with others if you need a ride).

·        It is recommended that you arrive early enough to warm up in the cafeteria and familiar yourself with your performance room’s location.

·        Double-check your scheduled times and make sure that time works with your weekend schedule if you are involved in any other events.  There is some flexibility in the schedule if you need to rearrange a bit.

·        Communicate with your accompanist about when and how to connect.

·        Please make sure you are dressed nicely because the judges will be able to see you while you perform.

·        Please be sure you have your ORIGINAL copy of the music with the measures numbered for the judges!  They won’t let you perform if you hand them a photocopy.

·        After you perform, you are free to go or you can hang around to see if they post ratings.  We will announce them once they are all done.

·        Let me know if you have any questions or concerns about this event.
