Contest Info:
Parents may have to pay to get into the contest (even if you ride the bus—we did last time).
~$8 adults/ $5 kids~
Schools that host these events incur huge expenses in doing so and rely on ticket sales (along with entry fees) to cover costs.
Please plan on them only accepting cash.
Hotels Info:
We are divided among two hotels…
Baymont by Windham on the Strip
2719 W State Hwy 76 (across from new aquarium)
Grand Plaza Hotel
245 N Wildwood Dr
Refer to rooming lists to know which you are assigned.
The hotels are near one another. Bus parking will depend on which has the best area for them. Plan on not having access to the buses after drop-off Saturday night until we load up Sunday morning. Don’t leave valuables on the bus.
We have traveled together earlier this year, so you know what is expected of you in the hotels. Please do not disappoint!
Breakfast is provided in both hotels.
Silver Dollar City Info:
Let’s take a group photo at the entrance. They have provided two coupons for photos (attached) in case you want to take advantage of them.
Mr. Wright will collect tickets at guest services and hand them out. Please wait out of the way of the public, but stick together.
Check their website for special events going on that you might want to be a part of and plan accordingly.
You can also find park maps there to plan your adventure (and grab a fresh one when we get in there.)
Some of the lines are long. When we are near departure time, don’t get in line for a popular ride. Be on time to the buses. We have a schedule to keep.
You are allowed to bring your own snacks in if you want. I assume backpacks are OK too, but will likely be subject to search.
Dress Code: No swim wear. If it doesn’t work at school-it won’t work there.
If you lose something, go to lost and found (J-6 on the park map) and file a report. Not much else you can do, but hope.
First Aid is behind Brown’s Candy Factory (find it on the map before you get going.)
Don’t try and use your phones while on rides. They are serious about that!
Shops can send your big packages to the front desk for pick-up at the end of the day, but leave plenty of time to claim them if you do that. Don’t make 175 people wait for dinner on you because you didn’t plan!
Pasquetti’s Info:
Dinner is paid for and the menu is fixed. Vegetarians can request meatless versions of these when we get there. If, for some reason, this won’t work, let Mr. Wright know asap!
Your choices are:
Lasagna
Chicken Alfredo
Spaghetti & Meatballs
Grilled Chicken & Mashed Potatoes/Broccoli
Each comes with Salad, Dessert, & Soft Drink
Some Further Details:
All Meals are provided, but you may bring money for snacks/souvenirs/games if you wish.
Take pictures of this itinerary with your phone so you have all of the info you need at all times. If there is a problem, contact Mr. Wright (918)-346-2899, but think if that like 911. Don’t call/text to ask about times or info that’s covered here. Be self-reliant!
